Thank you for attending Annual Gala

Jackson

On behalf of the GNEMSDC Board of Directors, I want to thank all of the sponsors, attendees, nominees, awardees, volunteers, honorary chairs, committee members, well wishers and staff for making this past week's Awards Gala a great success.

Also I want to offer a special thank you to Rev. Jesse Jackson for his thoughtful message. He gave us the historical perspective describing from whence we came, where we are and what is possible. I think I speak for many who were there, that Rev. Jackson made this a very special night.

Order eBook - And Finally II & Essays on Minority Business Development

eBook cover

I am very pleased to announce that my second book that chronicles the And Finally column and the various essays, articles, opinion pieces and unsolicited advice on a wide range of topics.

The book And Finally II & Essays on Minority Business Development covers the period January 1, 2007 though December 31 2010.

This four year period was an exciting time for the Council, the economy, the country, and the world. This book is 400 pages long, greater than twice the size of the first And Finally book. I see this as a book for the minority entrepreneur to keep by their desk. I also see this as something a supplier diversity professional can refer to in their daily struggles.

All of the proceeds for the book will be donated to the GNEMSDC. So this is a great way to have your own personal record of this historic time and support the Council. And since all proceeds are going directly to the GNEMSDC your purchase is tax deductible. Our plan is to only sell the book on line. You can read it on all I-Pads, other tables, cell phones and computers. Your purchase supports the work of the Council. Thank you for your support.

And Finally...

Fred in ohio

We all remember where we were on September 11, 2001. For me it was a CMSDC board of directors meeting in our Hamden office when news of the attack trickled in and phone lines started to go down. I remember much about that day, the frantic calls to loved ones who working in lower Manhattan and Washington, DC. The closing of schools. The shocking images. The hellish imaginations. I also remember what could have been. Before I took the job as President of the CMSDC, that summer I interviewed for a job at Morgan Stanley at the World Trade Center. I was offered that job. Morgan Stanley had 21 floors of offices in the South Tower, the second one hit that day. I turned that job down because I did not want to commute, nor did I want to be a 100 percent salesman, although I had recently took and passed my Series 7 examination for a stock brokers license. But I did not take that job. I took this one. We cannot know our fate or our future. We have to just live. On this day I imagine others will also recount that day and rejoice in the death of the perpetrator of that event. On this day we will remember and should remember the sense that everyone in the world was an American. Unjust suffering is a powerful reminder of our precious and fragile humanity. On this day we should also imagine a world of peace.

In your service,

Dr. Fred
