golf
The GNEMSDC Supplier Diversity Golf Classic is coming to Lyman Orchards Golf Club on Friday, July 13.    We are asking for sponsors to provide us with the names of their guests by June 15. Due to the limited space, we will not be able to hold your slots if you do not send your names to the office by June 15.  One of the main attractions of this event is getting MBEs and Corporate members together.

If you are interested in a fun afternoon of golf, networking, food, drinks and relationship building and are not registered, we can put your name on a waiting list.

If you would like to donate any items for our very popular raffle, please contact the office (888-874-7114).   We are also looking for volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to meet hundreds of guests.

Events That MBEs Should Not Miss
There are several events coming up on our calendar that are designed specifically for MBEs to learn about corporate opportunities.  In order to help you organize your own calendars and keep things straight, we have begin sending out invitations using Constant Contact.  This way we can include directions, agendas, share with you who else is attending and allow you to register.  If it seems like we are busy, it is because we are.  As I like to tell people, business is a contact sport.  We know how busy everyone's schedule is, but these are events often hosted by our corporate members with the expressed purpose of finding out more about you and your business with the ultimate aim, to make you a valuable supplier to their companies.  Here are some events you should consider:

I spoke at MED Day last week on the subject of "What Does a Successful Business Look Like?"  There were seven things that I identified that distinguish successful businesses from their peers.  The first factor I discussed was Vision.  Perhaps instead of talking in generalities, the best way to convey the importance of vision is to share with you my vision for the GNEMSDC.

My Vision for the GNEMSDC is that in the not too distant future, we will have over 1,000 certified MBEs and over 500 corporate members.  The Vision also is of those MBEs and corporate members actively participating in the activities and events that they help us design with the goal of promoting business with each other.  My Vision is of an organization that is the premier business to business organization in the region.  Notice I did not say premier minority business to business organization.  I see the GNEMSDC as an economic juggernaut tied to the success and development of the entire region.  My Vision is of a GNEMSDC that is the preferred way for states and municipalities to identify and work with certified MBEs.  My Vision is of an organization that becomes the certifying organization for the states and municipalities in the region.  My Vision has the GNEMSDC  participating and guiding the executive development of all of certified MBEs in the region, by having every single MBE attend at least one executive level training program.  My vision is of the GNEMSDC becoming the leading consulting agency for corporate and public sector supplier diversity programs.  My Vision is of the GNEMSDC participating actively in the corporate and MBE business transactions.  My Vision is of the GNEMSDC guiding MBEs to sources of capital to facilitate their growth and development.  My Vision of the GNEMSDC is of an organization that facilitates joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions within the MBE community and between MBEs and non-MBEs.  My Vision is of the GNEMSDC becoming the largest and most effective NMSDC regional council in the network while simultaneously sharing our best practices with our fellow Councils and helping them to achieve higher levels of performance.  My Vision is of a GNEMSDC that is operating effectively in all six New England states.   My Vision is of a GNEMSDC where CEOs of area Fortune 500 companies desire to serve on our board of directors.  My Vision of the GNEMSDC is  that it continues to set the standard for business events and programs.  My Vision of the GNEMSDC is of an organization that is a critical component of every certified MBEs marketing and development.  My Vision of the GNEMSDC is of an organization that corporate members come to in order to bring value to their supply chains while simultaneously increasing their spend with certified MBEs.  I do not think this is pie in the sky.  This is my Vision of the GNEMSDC.  What is your Vision of your company?
In your service,

Dr. Fred
