And Finally...

Fred in ohioI have not quite gone fishing, but the Annual NMSDC Business Opportunity Fair and Expo is an event I look forward to every year. This is my opportunity to meet with colleagues from around the world who are either promoting minority business development or are minority business leaders trying to get their piece of the pie. This event is the largest of its type and one of the most unique trade shows on the American business trade show calendar, because like our GNEMSDC show, the large corporate organizations attending the event are looking to meet certified MBEs with whom they can buy from. Without question there will be deals begun, continued and consummated at this important show this week in Atlanta. There is always great buzz as MBEs bring their best pitch to show value to corporate members and to each other. For the fifth straight year, the GNEMSDC will also be exhibiting at the show. We are looking to accomplish several things at our booth.

One we are looking to recruit new corporate members to actively participate in the Council in ways that bring more opportunities to our outstanding MBEs. Secondly, we are here to promote those outstanding MBEs to corporate members looking for talent. Thirdly, we are here to recruit some of the largest MBEs to consider coming to New England to market their goods and services to our corporate members. Fourthly, we are exhibiting to increase our profile in the national network. And finally, we are exhibiting so that our friends can come by and experience a little be of home away from home. So if you are going to be in Atlanta today and this week, stop by our booth to say hello.

2011 expo themeThis year we have an international theme in our booth. We did a survey this year asking MBEs where in the world they were from (literally). So our booth (#837) reflects this geographic diversity and our team will all be dressed in traditional attire reflecting some of that diversity. And we are giving away an IPad 2 to boot! You can call it Halloween with a purpose. I hope to see you this week in Atlanta!

In your service,

Dr. Fred
