Many Thanks for Your KIND WORDS. I've enjoyed working with each of you...
|
After Gala, I received many kind emails and I want to THANK YOU all for sending! Here are the some of them. The volunteers, the committee, the board and everyone who worked on this event deserve the credit.
- What a great event. Good job everybody at GNEMSDC!!!! Proud to be a member of this fine organization.
- I hope all is well! It was such a pleasure meeting you at the GNEMSDC Awards Gala on Thursday. Not only did I have a fantastic time, but as a young entrepreneur, I was so inspired by the incredible people and businesses in the room. I am based out of NYC and I must say, your event was hands down one of the best Galas I have ever attended. Again, thank you for the invitation, I sincerely appreciate.
- What a wonderful event last night! We all shared in Janice's honor as "Buyer of the Year" and are thrilled that she is helping to take CLC to the next level re: supplier diversity. We would like to put together a press release about this award and we wondered if you would be willing to provide us with a quote today if possible. Please let me know when you get a chance. Thanks for all your leadership on this important issue.
- Fred, listening to your closing comments now and wanted you to know that you are one classy guy running a premiere organization. Hoping we can be a better partner to you in the future
- It was a brilliant event last night. Again, thanks for the invite.
- Thank you!!! and I wanted to congratulate you for the last night's function. It was really good. People came- out of joy and gratitude to attend the gala...Congratulations and thank you!
- I'm listening to Coach & Coleman on Sirius and Jonathan just gave a serious plug to GNEMSDC! Funny story about Stiffler and how Cleveland traded the pick that he was supposed to announce. He talked a while about the program. BTW, another great job by you and your staff. See you soon!
- You have done a tremendous job. This couldn't have happened without you. Gala was a big success, we were glad to attend. Governor Daniel P. Malloy gave an excellent speech. Specially I was impressed to hear him about minorities and providing opportunities for them.
- Well, you have done it again, but over the top this time!!!! Last night's Gala was the best ever. It was very well-organized; speakers and presenters were on-point; the music was really nice; the on-screen visuals were captivating; and the high energy and sense of good-will was so apparent. None of this could have happened without your leadership and that amazing staff that keeps you on track (smile). Thank you, Dr Fred and staff for all that you do for this organization and MBEs.

2012 New England Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Day
Conference and Expo
|
Save the Date for the 2012 New England Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Day Conference & Expo! June 7, 2012 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center
MED Day is the premier event for minority enterprises and the public and private sectors. MED Day will offer the opportunity for MBEs to access information, tools and resources to grow their businesses both domestically and internationally. MBEs across a variety of industries will gather to connect with public and private sector buyers, explore avenues for business expansion, and develop thriving partnerships with firms across multiple industry sectors. Large corporations can expect to meet Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDBs) and MBEs to achieve their federal government goals.
This conference will also introduce the new U.S. Department of Commerce's Boston Minority Business Development Center, a powerful tool for MBEs who want to grow. Attendees can expect networking, business-to-business matchmaking sessions with corporate procurement officials and capital providers and workshops.

GNEMSDC Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Golf Classic
|
The GNEMSDC Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Golf Outing is coming to
Ferncroft Country Club on Monday, June 11. Our CT golf outing has been a tremendous success over the past few years, so much so, that there was no room to accommodate more players. We are hoping that the reintroduction of the Golf Supplier Diversity Day to the Greater Boston Market will also be a tremendous success. Annual Sponsors have the choice of participating in either the Ferncroft Country Club MA outing or the Lyman Orchards Golf Club, CT outing July 13 or both.
We are asking for sponsors to provide us with the names of their guests by May 15. Due to the limited space, we will not be able to hold your slots if you do not send your names to the office by June 1. One of the main attractions of this event is getting MBEs and Corporate members together.
If you are interested in a fun morning of golf, networking, food, drinks and relationship building and are not registered, we can put your name on a waiting list.
If you would like to donate any items for our very popular raffle, please contact the office (888-874-7114).
***Volunteer Opportunity for June 11, MA is Closed***

Events That MBEs Should Not Miss
|
There are several events coming up on our calendar that are designed specifically for MBEs to learn about corporate opportunities. We know how busy everyone's schedule is, but these are events often hosted by our corporate members with the expressed purpose of finding out more about you and your business with the ultimate aim, to make you a valuable supplier to their companies. Here are some events you should consider:
|
Request for Proposal and Other Opportunities
|
The New Haven Parking Authority (NHPA) is looking for sealed bids for cleaning windows at the New Haven Union Station Transportation Center until 3:00 PM on May 4 at the Main Office of the NHPA, 50 Union Avenue, 2nd Floor East, New Haven, CT 06519 at which time all proposals will be opened. Copies of bid documents can be obtained by sending a fax request to 203-946-8929. |
|
Employment Opportunities
|
It is very important in business to be able to balance between staying close to your core competencies and meeting the needs and demands of your customers. For many years I have resisted the offer to take employment ads, however at the risk of opening the flood gates, I will begin accepting offers for employment at MBEs and corporate members. Even though the economy continues to improve unemployment is too high. If we can play any positive role in connecting people to jobs, we will do so. We reserve the right to publish.
