And Finally...
Fred in ohio
Last week I listened to a report about two galaxies, far, far away, that are colliding with one another.  I have always been interested in astronomy.  I even have a telescope that I use primarily to look at the moon, although this past week Jupiter and Venus were very interesting.  This should convince some that I really am an admitted lunatic; they once believed that staring at the moon would lead to mental illness.  The colliding galaxies pose some very interesting questions for astronomers and philosophers.  Can you imagine the sense of doom for any one, or any alien thing, that sees a foreign planet coming closer and closer every day?  I was a little dismayed to learn after further study that our very own galaxy, our celestial home, the Milky Way, is also on a collision course with our neighboring galaxy.  But before you go out and sell everything and get a huge loan to fund that vacation of a lifetime and a brand new Bentley roadster, know that our collision is not likely happen for another 4.5 billion years.   Time is on our side use it wisely, but it is not forever.

In your service,
Dr. Fred
