The reason for the change was a number of conflicts on the originally scheduled dates between our show and the Federal Government's Minority Enterprise Development Week program in Washington, DC from September 27 through September 30. Many of our corporate members and certified MBEs attend MED Week either because the Federal Government is often their largest customer and this is the premier Federal government event focusing on supplier diversity. The MED Week event is also an event that the GNEMSDC may have a role in this year. So for these reasons, we have moved the dates. I apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused. We look forward to seeing you at perhaps both programs now instead of neither.

We have a collective 100+ years of experience handling share repurchase mandates from Fortune 500 clients executed by a seasoned team from top buy- and sell -side institutions and specialized boutiques. Kota Global Social Ventures (KGSV) seeds and leverages innovation by supporting nonprofit organizations and for-benefit/for-profit social enterprises promoting access to capital and equity for individuals, families, and their communities through a range of social investment tools, including grants, loans, community investment notes, and Mission-Related Investments (MRIs). This spring, we launched our signature initiative, Completing the Circle, in two public high schools in New York City. Our pilot program partners with a global, financial education nonprofit; the curriculum was implemented by Kota's staff as volunteers working with 9th graders, including a College Aspirations component supporting visits to colleges/universities to jump-start the college preparation process. We are also mentoring a diverse pool of college and high school interns to learn more about financial services and philanthropy in order to grow the pipeline of young leaders in our industry. As resources permit, we will scale Completing the Circle to Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area and globally. As Kota grows, our community and social investments expand and deepen. Kota Global Securities Overview Kota Global Social Ventures Overview | Golf Alert! And Finally... | It has been noted and often stated that minority business development is the last phase of the civil rights struggle. I do not think history is so neatly sequential, but I have been provided an excellent opportunity to learn and share my experiences with others as a newly appointed member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Connecticut Advisory Committee. The Commission was created by the Civil Rights Act of 1957. It's first fact finding action investigated voting rights abuses in Montgomery Alabama. Alabama Circuit Judge George Wallace ordered voter records be impounded and not available to the Commission. Judge Wallace went on to become Governor Wallace and voting rights became the focus of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. It is an honor and a privilege to serve on this Advisory Committee tjat has played an instrumental role in the democratic progress of this nation. Last year the Connecticut Advisory Committee focused its attention on the achievement gap in Connecticut and the implication disparate educational performance has on equal opportunity. We have not convened this term, but I believe one issue that would of interest to me would be to focus on the connection between opportunities for minority business enterprises and civil rights in minority communities. I will keep you posted. US Commission on Civil Rights Press Release In your service, Dr. Fred | Copyright © 2011 by Dr Fred.
