And Finally... | Being paranoid, or more accurately sensitive to external forces is not a bad trait if you are the leader of your company. And you are not paranoid if there really are companies trying to take your customers. Business is a competitive game where companies are working hard to provide their customers high quality goods and services while keeping the competition at bay. Companies in your industry are plotting everyday to take your customers by providing them less expensive, higher quality products and services; business is business. That is what you should be doing everyday as well. Some people do not understand that even a non-profit like the GNEMSDC faces significant competitive pressures from a multitude of non-profit and for profit entities, including some MBEs. And given the opportunity our competitors would happily relieve us of our sources of support. Well if you are the leader of your organization it is your job to prevent losing business to your competitors and to grow your organization. The reality is you are either growing or you are dying. It is up to you to decide whether you want to grow or face the gloomy alternative. As far as being paranoid; so long as you are fanatical about taking care of your customers and improving your business, you can worry less about those rascally competitors. In your service, Dr. Fred |
