It caught my attention this weekend that some charitable organization raised $2.6 million by offering lunch with Warren Buffett the billionaire investor. The bidding starting at $25,000 on Ebay and kept increasing until finally leveling off, breaking the previous record for a single charitable donation via an auction. I thought if Warren Buffett can do this, why not me. Now I realize that there is a difference between driving a Bugatti Veyron and driving anything else. Yet, if Mr. Buffett can raise $2.6 million for lunch, I should at least be able to attract $1,000. So let's start the bidding for lunch and an afternoon with Dr. Fred at $100.00. Obviously, you will want to know what you are getting at this lunch with me. I can promise a good meal, my Blackberry, some engaging conversation, and some of my insights into how to take your business or your career to the next level. All proceeds from this auction will go towards the MBE education fund. To place your bid call the office and we will tell you where the market currently is. So while I cannot promise you the same experience you would get with Mr. Buffett, I can promise you a memorable afternoon for a great cause! And if nobody calls to place a bid, I will get over it - eventually.
